MIAMI, FL, June 7, 2019 - The first season of the new HBO Latin America Brazilian production, PICO DA NEBLINA (official English title pending), premieres on August 4th on HBO and HBO GO. The series, which takes place in a fictional São Paulo where marijuana has been legalized, will have ten one-hour episodes under the general direction of Quico Meirelles.
PICO DA NEBLINA tells the story of Biriba (Luis Navarro), a young trafficker from São Paulo who decides to leave behind a life of crime and use his knowledge to legally sell the product, together with his inexperienced partner and investor, Vini (Daniel Furlan). Biriba will have to deal with the weight and pressures of his past life, linked to his friend Salim (Henrique Santana), and the innumerable business challenges he will face.
Under the general direction of Quico Meirelles, the HBO Latin America original production is also directed by Fernando Meirelles, Luis Carone and Rodrigo Pesavento. PICO DA NEBLINA is produced by Luis F. Peraza, Roberto Rios and Eduardo Zaca from HBO Latin America Originals, and Andrea Barata Ribeiro, Bel Berlinck and Fernando Meirelles from O2 Filmes. The script is by Cauê Laratta, Chico Mattoso, Marcelo Starobinas and Mariana Trench.
